Elbow Lake is north of
Inchelium between Onion Ridge and Dollar
Mountain in the Inchelium drainage. The lake,
also known as Ghost Lake and Horseshoe Lake, is
a narrow, hook-shaped lake about 7000 feet
long, fed by Onion Creek and drained
southeasterly to Barnaby Creek. The lake
occasionally dries. Vegetation surrounding the
lake includes Larix occidentalis,
Pseudotsuga menziesii, Pinus ponderosa, and
Populus sp. (purslane).The aquatic
macrophytes consisted of Myriophyllum
exalbescens, the dominant species,
Ranunculus aquatilus var. capillaceus,
and Eleocharis acicularis. Potamogeton
sp. and Chara sp. were scattered.

the shoreline, extending into shallow water
